"Volunteer Day at St. James' Settlement" 
Wan Chai

First Gold always stands ready to offer services to local communities and encourages its staff to participate in community activities as a way to contribute to society. The volunteer teams of First Gold participated in the Warmth and Care for the Elderly and Needy organized by St. James' Settlement on 8 December, 2012 when they prepared soups and gifts for the elderly as a token of love, respect and best wishes.

The First Annual CGSE International (Silver) Conference 
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre

First Gold was invited to join the spectacular First Annual CGSE International (Silver) Conference held at the HKCEC on 14 November, 2012. The event aimed to provide opportunities for attendants to exchange views on the latest developments and trends of silver market. Mr. Haywood Cheung, the President of the Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society and keynote speaker of the conference, announced that a trading platform of spot silver would be launched in the first quarter of the next year. Silver weighing one ton was presented for guests to take pictures which attracted widespread media reports.

First Gold also present to show support and shared views on silver investment prospects during an interview with Roadshow, which would be shown on the Roadshow buses in Hong Kong.

 

The seminar aimed to facilitate silver trading in Hong Kong and change Hong Kong into a gateway that connects eastern and western silver traders in ways that would enhance Hong Kong's position in the international precious metals market.

Fund-raising Activity Co-organized by "First Gold" and Power of Love 
Causeway Bay

First Gold is a caring employer that cares about the society and takes part in various charities pro-actively. It co-held a charity selling in Causeway Bay with Power of Love from 18-19 October, 2012 in a bid to raise money for people with kidney diseases and for students living in remote mountainous areas in mainland China. The money raised, amounted to nearly HKD 100,000, would all go to Power of Love for philanthropic purposes.


First Gold also participated in the event by dressing themselves in ways that would attract passers-by to donate. Upon completion, awards of "Team with Most Members", "Best Fund-raising Team" were presented to the staff for their contribution. All of the three teams mentioned above shared their thoughts on the event during an interview with Roadshow. The video would be shown on the Roadshow buses in November in Hong Kong. Stay tuned!


This charity selling aimed to raise money for Power of Love and Dialysis Center in a bid to provide dialysis services for those in need and thus improving the well-being of the elderly or people with kidney diseases by enhancing their opportunities of being cured. Besides, it also aimed to improve education environment for children living in remote mountainous areas in mainland China by building new schools, revamping old ones and providing children at school age with access to basic education which might change their lives.

First Gold: "Charity Concert of 3Q10 and Mak Ka Lok" 
Concert Hall, Hong Kong Cultural Centre

Committed to doing the good always ahead of others, First Gold has taken part in many charity events. Charity Concert 3Q10 Meets Mak Ka Lok, co-held by Sunshine Action and 3Q10 and sponsored by First Gold at Hong Kong Cultural Center Music Hall on 6 October, 2012, ended up a great success. First Gold, as the title sponsor, donated HKD 530,000 as poverty reduction fund for Sunshine Action.


Mr. Mak Ka-lok, the world's famous conductor and composer, "HK18 Symphony Orchestra" and 3Q10, a group of avid singers, gave their best by singing songs including Tixiaoyinyuan, the Moon Represents My Heart and Below the Lion Rock that were extremely popular during the 1970s to 1990s. Representative of First Gold, also gave his best support by singing "Tietalingyun", "Your First Name, My Last Name" and sang "I believe I can fly" with the famous Hong Kong singer Justin Lo, bringing about a commotion and a roar of applause from the audience.


A charity run by volunteers in Hong Kong, "Sunshine Action" is a tax-exempt non-profit-making organisation. Founded by several volunteers, it is committed to offering services to the vulnerable group in 2008. Sunshine Action aimed to doing the good and sending warmth in a bid to help single-parent families and the most impoverished families including those with serious or chronic diseases as well as abandoned seniors and campers.

Hong Kong "Dress Casual Day" 2012 

Committed to fulfilling corporate responsibilities and charities, First Gold offered its full support to the fund raising activity during the 20th anniversary of Dress Casual Day held by the Community Chest. Its staff also responded with their proactive involvement by participating in this event held on 28 September, 2012. Funds raised would all be used to help the 153 social welfare institutions funded by the Community Chest.


As a non-governmental charity, the Community Chest was founded on 8 November, 1968 and aims to raise funds for social welfare institutions relying on its support, with the Hong Kong Jockey Club offering administrative fees. So the funds raised could be distributed among more than the 153 institutions without cutting the administrative fees.

First Gold Was Invited to Visit "POLCCF Dialysis Centre" 
POLCCF Dialysis Centre

Committed to charities and shouldering corporate responsibilities, First Gold has been offering support for charity activities within its scope. On 12 January last year, First Gold management and staff participated in a charity selling organized by Power of Love and raised funds for its daily operations. An impressive amount of more than HKD 160,000 raised that day would all go to Power of Love for philanthropic purposes.


Being the first ever of its kind in Hong Kong, Polccf Dialysis Center was founded by Power of Love in April 2012 and now provides excellent blood dialysis services for people suffering from kidney failures at low prices. First Gold management and staff were invited to pay visits to the newly opened center and witness their hard efforts of providing social services on June 26, 2012. Funds raised last year were used to purchase a kidney dialysis machine and a dialysis chair. The two pieces of apparatus were even named after First Gold as a token of gratitude for its strong support. First Gold recollected how hard it was for Power of Love to launch the Center and other details during the process. Upholding the spirit of public welfare service, First Gold will continue to do within its scope to benefit communities.

Significance of Marketing - Sharing of Value of Financial Online with Marketing Strategies 
Conrad Hong Kong Hotel

Significance of Marketing -- Sharing of Value of Financial Online with Marketing Strategies was held by Hexun.com, the biggest financial website in China, in association with First Gold at Conrad Hong Kong on 25 June, 2012. The event attracted nearly one hundred attendants in precious metals, securities, funds and other financial sectors with Lai Yinghua, the Communication Director of Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society, present to show support. In addition to sharing the unique marketing strategies and philosophy of First Gold, First Gold, as the associate sponsor of the event, made introductions of the "Renminbi Kilobar Gold", the first offshore RMB gold product, launched by CGSE. The event climaxed when two bars of Renminbi Kilobar Gold werepresented the interested attendants .


The event was recorded by Roadshow, the special media supporter, and the edited video would be shown on Roadshow buses across Hong Kong in July. First Gold was also interviewed by Hexun.com and Roadshow before the event ended up a great success.

The 43rd CGSE Executive & Supervisory Committees Election 
CGSE

Election of the 43rd CGSE Executive and Supervisory Committees ended up a success on 18 June, 2012 with Mr. Zhang Dezhao as the President of the Executive Committee, Mr. Steven Chan and Mr. Zheng Jinbiao as the Vice Presidents and Mr. Xiao Kunluan as the head of the Supervisory Committee. It was an honor for First Gold to be elected as an alternate member of the 43rd Executive and Supervisory Committees with CEO Mr. Sammy So attending the monthly Executive and Supervisory Committees conference on its behalf to fulfill his responsibilities and play a part in formulating policies, implementing and monitoring development programs. Consisting of 21 members elected every two years by CGSE, the Executive and Supervisory Committees was responsible for daily operations of CGSE and various affairs through several panels under its charge.


Managing Director Mr. Lawrence Kook was also present at the exciting election. First Gold has been committed to promoting precious metals trading such as gold and silver. It was indeed an honor for it to be elected as an alternate of the Executive and Supervisory Committees. First Gold would make its own contribution to the sector with many years of experience.

To facilitate its business development, First Gold held a large job fair from 5-6 June, 2012 at East Point City, Tseung Kwan O where it made direct contact with job candidates and expanded employment channels to recruit able, innovative talents with strong team spirit. During the two-day event, Dr. Raymond Choi, the Director of First Gold, along with the Project Manager of First Gold, the Vice President of Marketing Department, and the Senior Business Manager shared their ideas with job-seekers about how to choose their own careers, how to become a member of First Gold and their working experience. First Gold always puts people first, as is witnessed by the suggestion and sharing of the status quo and prospects of financial sector with attendants by the management members.

The 26th SMART Investment & International Property Expo 
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre

First Gold representative was invited to the 26th SMART Investment & International Property Expo 2012 to preside over an investment symposium on "Gold: Goodbye or Good Buy?" on 2 June, 2012 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center and provided deep and professional analysis of trends of gold trading for over one hundred investors. Founded in 2004, the SMART Investment & International Property Expo is the most mature platform for property, investment and exhibition in Asia. It has held more than 20 successful exhibitions over the past eight years in Hong Kong and Singapore with more than 1,500 properties and financial companies, over 100,000 investors and hundreds of senior investment experts delivering speeches and analyzing situations. People invited as guests to deliver speeches are all notables in the financial sector.
