First Gold Awarded with “Better World Company” and “Green Office” Labels for 2 Consecutive Years
Ensuring a sustainable environment has always been a goal of The United Nations Millennium Development Goals (UNMDG), encouraging the society to preserve the environment and creating a green environment. On 11th of December 2014, World Green Organization and the Junior Chamber International Hong Kong hosted the WGO’s Second Anniversary cum GOALS Award Presentation Ceremony at the Bank of America Tower in Admiralty. It was a star-studded day in terms of the businessmen that arrived, with over 100 guests arriving on the day, creating an exceptional atmosphere, with Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services, Frank F Chan, GBS, to officiate the event as well as making a speech, appealing to those guests to be more aware of global warming, and to work together to achieve the goal of zero emissions.
For 2 consecutive years, First Gold has been awarded with UNMDG’s “Better World Company” label and WGO’s “Green Office” label, reaffirming First Gold’s efforts to minimize their emissions by achieving 9 of the necessary expectations including energy saving, waste reduction, education, green innovation etc. This year, a total of 68 different companies were awarded, praising them for their Green Office culture and reduction of carbon emissions. First Gold is committed to promoting an environmentally friendly environment, actively implementing carbon emission procedures by encourage the staff to reduce the use of paper, installing energy-saving devices, etc., improving staff awareness of how to protect the environment to fulfil their social corporate responsibility.
Since its implementation in 2013, the Green Office Award Scheme has been consistently promoting energy reduction, working step-by-step to achieve sustainable development, with over 170 companies being praised for their efforts, proving the wide recognition and support gained. In the future, First Gold will continue to lead by example, encouraging staff to be efficient in using resources and promoting an environmental corporate message and working together to build a Green Community.
