On the 23rd February 2015, The Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange opened the markets following the tradition with both the president and vice-president completing the first gold trade in a competitive bidding method. Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan hosted the opening ceremony which attracted a large number of media who arrived to report about the event.

First Gold representatives attended the event, and one of them dressed up as the God of Wealth and distributed Spring Festival Red Pockets. This year was the first year that CGSE had a God of Wealth distributing red pockets, creating a great atmosphere, adding to the excitement of the Chinese New Year opening.

First Gold wishes the precious trading industry a prosperous year to promote Hong Kong’s economy. 

As Christmas drew near, First Gold held a Christmas party at Red Mr. in Wanchai on 24 December, 2014. The party was a magnificent spectacle where many versatile and energetic First Gold staff showed their great voice. The party climaxed when a classic song "The Days We Have Been Through" was sung.

Of course, what could never be missed was the exciting lucky draw during which the staff exchanged their prepared gifts. The company also prepared many gifts for its staff and brought about waves of cheers from the crowd. After enjoying rich delicacies and pleasing performances, they all got home to celebrate Christmas in high spirits.

First Gold was invited on 21^st December 2014 to take part in CGSE hosted “Let’s Build Our Hong Kong Dream –Poon Choi Banquet”, with the banquet being hosted at Kwai Chung Sports Ground. Secretary for Food and Wealth Dr. Ko Wing-Man, CGSE Charity Fund President Dr. Haywood Cheung, CGSE President Mr. Chan Sheung Chi and a number of government officers were also invited to the banquet, sharing their love on the day.

First Gold took part in the banquet, taking part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony to kick-off the event, working hand-in-hand with other guests to share the message of love and care. Besides the organising winter festive dinner and performances for some of the low-income families and ethnic minorities, over 70,000 gifts and over 200 raffle gifts were organised for each of the participants, making sure there was pleasure for every corner of the venue.

First Gold has always been actively involved in “Let’s Build Our Hong Kong Dream” events, making sure to fulfil a corporate social responsibility, promote and share the message of love and care, to build a better Hong Kong.

Sponsored by the First Gold, hosted by the Hear Talk Foundation, the “3 on 3 Basketball Competition” was successfully held at Fa Hui Park on 1^st – 2^nd November, 2014.

Being one of the leaders in bullion trading market with corporate responsibility, First Gold has been always actively supported different types of charitable activities. This year, a basketball team representing First Gold was sent to compete against the teams from other organizations.

The Metro Prosperity announced the winners of the Prime Awards for Brand Excellence 2014 at the Windsor House, Causeway Bay on 24^th October, 2014. The officiating guest, Mr. Jasper Tsang Yok-sing, the president of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, was invited to deliver a welcome speech. A total of 14 companies in Hong Kong have been awarded, recognizing their contributions of enhancing Hong Kong's professional brand image as well as the prosperity of the economy.

With public affirmation of its innovation and reliable service in bullion trade market, First Gold has been awarded the “Prime Awards for Brand Excellence – Excellence Bullion Investment Services Brand Award".

First Gold staffs are energetic and often take part in activities and competitions in their free time. To enhance exchanges with the staff of the Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society, their counterparts of First Gold took part in the Gold & Silver Badminton Doubles Championships on 21 September, 2014.

First Gold sent three teams on its behalf to participate in the badminton tournaments held in South China Athletic Association, Causeway Bay and they competed with members of the Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society and have shown great skills and vitality. From the round of 16 to the final, the three teams became more confident as the competition continued and stood out from the crowds, finally making a clean sweep of the gold, silver and bronze medals.

The teams all encouraged and meshed well with one another in the game and showed great team spirit on which First Gold prides itself. In the meantime, friendship and communication between First Gold and the Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society have been greatly enhanced, which facilitates the bullion trading in the future.

The Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society held the "Letter of Appointment Issuing Ceremony of CGSE Qianhai Precious Metals Development Concern Group and Most Active Loco London Gold/Silver Dealer Award 2013/14" in the Bloomberg News Hong Kong Headquarters on September 15, 2014. The officiating guests included Dr. Haywood Cheung, the Permanent Honorary President of Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society, CGSE Executive and Supervisory Committees, Mr. Yang Yi, a Vice Director of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR and the person in charge of Trade Office of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR, Mr. Zhang Xialing, a Vice Director of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HK SAR, Mr. He Zijun, the Vice President of Qianhai Administration Bureau, and Mr. Liu Xiao, the Director of Qianhai Administration Bureau. The event aimed to commend the consultant team and the member team for their dedication to Qianhai's projects and celebrate ten outstanding members for their contribution to the industry by awarding the prizes to Top Ten Most Active Loco London Gold/Silver Dealers.

Among the numerous members, First Gold won the glory for several times, and again won the Top Ten Most Active Loco London Gold/Silver Dealer Award 2013/14 presented by the Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society. First Gold achieved remarkable results for many consecutive years and established once again its place in the Hong Kong bullion investment industry.

Arsenal Consulting - Do the Right Thing Special Sharing Event, which was fully supported by First Gold, was held on 31 July, 2014 at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong where guests and the press gathered together to share their views on technology crimes.

Mr. Mark Spencer, the President of Arsenal Consulting, shared how he managed to identify many fabricated documents, created opportunities for 236 Turkish families to reunite, safeguarded their rights of equal interrogation and promoted universal values such as equality and justice by means of technology.

First Gold staff also volunteered in the activity. They all wished to express their gratitude to Arsenal Consulting for its contribution to safeguarding governance of law and justice by means of professional technology and promoting public awareness of Internet safety and technology crimes.

Mr. Tony Taylor, the President of High Technology Crime Investigation Association, and Mr. Paul Taylor, the Vice President, were also present to offer support and shared their ideas about science and technology security and ways to make the Internet a safer place during the cocktail party with Mr. Mark Spencer, the keynote speaker, Well & Well Financial Holdings Group as well as First Gold and other attendants.

The Launching Ceremony and Award Presentation Ceremony of "Let's Build Our HK Dream" were held in Conrad Hong Kong Hotel on July 30, 2014. The hosting organisation, Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society Charity Fund, invited Mr. Cheung Kin-chung, the Secretary for Labour and Welfare Bureau, and Mr. Eddie Ng Hak-kim, the Secretary for Education Bureau, to act as the officiating guests. One of First Gold representatives attended this event as a member of the CGSE Executive and Supervisory Committees. He, together with the distinguished guests on the stage, hosted the launching ceremony and granted the Certificate of Appreciation to the organizations that warmly supported the activity of "Let's Build Our HK Dream".

First Gold attended the ceremony and showed staunch support, wishing to advocate the conference belief of "It's your merit to be able to help", influence everybody around us, and promote social integration and build our HK Dream. First Gold received the Certificate of Appreciation which accredited First Gold as a star-level sponsor of the "Let's Build Our HK Dream" activity and recognized the full efforts First Gold has made for charities.

The Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society registered and founded the Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society Charity Fund in April, 2014 to further enhance the industry's awareness of involving in public welfare activities and to offer help to the vulnerable groups. The Charity Fund would plan and carry out eight poverty-alleviation activities centering on the theme of "Let's Build Our HK Dream". The number of beneficiaries was expected to exceed 10,000. The activities would cover fields such as culture and art, education, sports and recreation, and parent-child activities.
